Lovewell Pond 2005 Invasive Plant Inspection Program

GOALS:

Protect Lovewell Pond against aggressive non-native plants that can choke the life from the pond

Continue boat inspection project at Lovewell Pond Public Ramp

Maximize State of Maine Grant ($2000 for “2005”) for paid inspectors, lake plant surveys, and education projects

Support State of Maine Plant Program

Encourage and continue Pond Association members’ financial and volunteer contribution to the Invasive Plant Program

PROGRAM STATUS:

No evidence of invasive plants to date

State of Maine 2005 grant approved for $2000

Lovewell Pond Association contribution of $500

L.E.A. Inspection Workshop at Lovewell Pond Boat Ramp scheduled for June 10th at 3:00PM

Please call Peter Wilkens (207-935-3056) if you plan to attend the boat inspection training

Lovewell Pond Plant Survey scheduled for early June, time TBD

Completed 375 hours of boat inspections at the boat ramp during the summer of 2004.  (No invasive plants found).

Lake co-coordinators have attended and are contributing to the State of Maine invasive plant training
